The Site lies to the east of Plough Hill Road, between recently developed housing areas to the north and south. It presents a unique opportunity to deliver new homes alongside further transport improvements, from helping to reduce traffic speeds around Galley Common Infant School to improved walking and cycle routes.
With good access to local amenities, Galley Common Infant School, public transport links and the Black Track, the Site provides an ideal opportunity to create a walkable community that integrates well with the surrounding neighbourhood, minimising the need to travel by car.
The Site has few technical constraints, at the lowest risk of flooding and with no environmental designations affecting it.
The existing Public Right of Way can be retained and re-routed as part of the proposals.
It is a logical location to deliver new homes in response to the housing crisis facing the Borough.
